Former Afghan Takhar police chief killed in Tehran

TEHRAN, Dec. 25 (MNA) – Akramuddin Saree, a security official from the former Afghan government, lost his life in an armed attack in Tehran, and the Iranian police confirmed the assassination.

Sources have confirmed to Mehr the killing of Akramuddin Saree, the former police chief of Takhar province in the former Afghan government, in Tehran.

According to these reports, he was targeted by an armed attack after leaving his workplace on Vali Asr Street in Tehran and was taken to the hospital after being shot in the head, but succumbed to his injuries.

Mehr follow-ups in the Tehran police department show that the assassination has been confirmed and the news is accurate. 

Investigations into the incident is underway and perpetrators behind his murder are still ongoing.
